Bollescroft is located off the Spotlight car park in Hoddesdon. It is owned by Broxbourne Council but leased by Broxbourne Theatre Company and used as its rehearsal hall and headquarters.
The building is only visible from the car park as a white wall and a roof top. Access is through the gate at the left of the wall and down 6 steps. We regret that the access and some aspects of the building may present difficulties for the disabled.
Previously only bookable up to 6pm, Monday to Friday, through the Spotlight Venue Administrator, Bollescroft can now be booked 7 days a week until 11pm when not in use by BTC. All bookings are now only dealt with by BTC.
FACILITIES
The ground floor comprises the main hall and a small meeting room.
Main Hall
The main hall is a bright open area, of slightly irregular shape, with maximum dimensions of 14.3m (47ft) x 8.5m (28ft), and 111.5 sqm (1200 sq. ft.) area.
It is ideal for community groups, parties, keep fit and similar
activities. Tables and chairs are available for seated meetings, accommodating up to 60 people.
Meeting Room
The meeting room is ideal for small meetings, seating up to 20 people. The meeting room may be hired on its own only when the main hall is not in use.
First Floor
Toilets are located on the first floor, where there is also a small kitchen with limited facilities which may be used for the provision of light refreshments.

Complete the Booking Form and send it to our Bollescroft Hire Administrator with the deposit required.
A scanned copy of the Booking Form may be sent by email or by post. The deposit may be paid by online banking or cheque. Full contact details for the Administrator and BTC’s bank details for online payment are all set out on the Booking Form.

A Damage Deposit of £50 will be required from the hirer, as described in our Conditions of Hire.

A deposit, of 20% of the calculated hire charge, is payable with the Booking Form

The balance, plus the Damage Deposit, is due 4 weeks in advance of the event.
If the date of the booking is within 4 weeks, then full payment of the hire charge and the Damage Deposit will be due upon confirmation of the booking.

Hirers accept that Bollescroft does not have the benefit of a full time caretaker or staff.
